It All Ends.
The final installment of the Harry Potter series is hitting theaters at midnight tonight, and we, Ankiet and Ankiet, are Uber Effing Excited. To celebrate this wonderful occasion, we decided, a few weeks ago, that we will start AnkietvsAnkiet ago today. We have been talking about the execution of the blog for almost a year now, and we thought twould be appropriate to begin today. So, It All Begins.
Harry Potter represents my childhood for me. And I bet, many people of the HP fandom would agree with me when I say, “when those credits start rolling at the end of HP7 Part 2 tonight, we will be saying goodbye to our childhood.” The first HP book came out in 1997, and I was merely ten years old then. It is 2011, I am twenty four years old now, and I'd like to think that I am still a kid at heart. The mere mention of HP brings out the kid in me :) (Those of you who know me, would probably agree with me.)
We, members of Potterdom, grew up with Harry, and that's why we are simultaneously Uber Effing Excited and sad for tonight. Hopefully, all the Muggles out there are able to understand this. There will be robes out tonight, and I will be wearing one. There will be wands out tonight, and I will be carrying one. The kid in me (us) is awake. My (our) nerd is on! So Please Please Please, Be Warned!... If you do find our behaviour peculiar, please keep it to yourself. Be excited that we are excited. Otherwise, you WILL find many chopsticks pointed at you, and people screaming "Crucio!" in your general direction. It is also advisable that you do NOT compare HP with, or simply mention, Twilight, when you are waiting in line.
